Criteria
This market resolves YES if, before January 1, 2050, a peer-reviewed scientific publication or official announcement from a recognized scientific institution presents evidence of biological life originating beyond Earth and that finding is subsequently accepted by the majority of experts in the fields of astrobiology and planetary science. Evidence may include living organisms, fossilized organisms, or biological processes that cannot reasonably be attributed to contamination from Earth. This market resolves NO if no such finding achieves broad scientific acceptance before the resolution date.
