Will Canada have an Ebola case in 2026?
About
This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is a confirmed case of Ebola in the territory of the specified country reported between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Any active laboratory-confirmed, or otherwise officially confirmed, Ebola infection identified within the territory of the specified country will qualify, regardless of where exposure, symptom onset, or testing occurred. The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the relevant national and international health authorities; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting will also suffice.
Resolution
Criteria
Resolves YES based on the official Polymarket resolution for: "Will Canada have an Ebola case in 2026?"
Context
Canada has had no reported cases of Ebola to date, although the country has a robust public health system in place to quickly identify and respond to potential outbreaks. The risk of an Ebola case in Canada is considered low, but key factors that will determine the outcome include international travel and the emergence of new Ebola outbreaks in other parts of the world, particularly in Africa. Public health officials and travelers to affected areas will be closely monitored, with the World Health Organization and the Public Health Agency of Canada providing updates on the situation.
